We are excited to open registration for our Japanese Class for Grown-ups program 2025-2026!
Located in Brooklyn, New York, each course consists of 8 classes in hybrid style of in-person and online classes. Courses will focus on conversational language, cultural topics, as well as real Japanese outside of the Genki I textbook.
Courses are offered weekly in Seasons 1-3. If a class conflicts with your schedule in Season 1, check to see if it’s available in a different season.

We’ll cover greetings, sentence structure, numbers, classroom phrases, and reading hiragana and katakana. Topics include everyday expressions, location words, and currency—perfect for first-time learners.

Designed for those with some basic exposure to Japanese, this class builds practical language skills for everyday life in Genki, Chapters 3-4. You’ll strengthen your understanding of grammar, sentence structure, and cultural basics while practicing reading and writing in hiragana, katakana, and simple kanji.

Ideal for those comfortable with basic grammar and kana, this class expands your skills through real-life topics like festivals, food, and travel using Genki I, Chapters 5-6.
