After School Program

For the children born in 2020 to 2023

 

Welcome to our Japanese After-School Program

Aozora’s After-School Program is a fun and enriching experience for children ages 2 to 5 (born between 2020 and 2023) who are comfortable understanding Japanese.

We offer two types of classes:

  • Special Classes (for ages 3–5), designed to spark creativity and curiosity

  • Choice Time (for ages 2–4), where children enjoy free play while naturally becoming more familiar with the Japanese language

Each class runs for 45 minutes and is open to any child who can understand Japanese instruction.

Our program offers children a special after-school time to strengthen their Japanese skills, enjoy cultural experiences, and build friendships in a warm and supportive environment.

Extended care is available until 6:00 PM, and each session includes a homemade, healthy snack.

あおぞらアフタースクールプログラムへようこそ！
プログラムには、創造性や興味を広げスペシャルクラス（3−5歳）と、自由な遊びを通して日本語に親しむチョイスタイム（2−4歳）があります。いずれも４５分間のクラスで、日本語のクラス内容をある程度理解できるお子様であれば、どなたでも参加いただけます。

放課後に、日本語のスキルを自然に伸ばしながら、文化的な豊かさやお友達との交流を楽しめる、そんなたのしい時間を提供しています。
午後4時以降は、午後6時まで延長保育もご利用いただけます。毎回、手作りの健康的で美味しいおやつもご用意しています。


お子様がのびのびと学び、心はずませる時間を一緒に過ごしましょう。

Time

Drop Off: 3pm – 3:15pm
After School Class & Choice Time: 3:15pm – 4:00pm
Extended Care (Optional): 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Drop In

Choice Time Only (3-4pm): $25
Extended Care only (4-6pm): $36
Choice Time and Extended Care (3-6pm): $61

Choice Time Drop-In registration and payment needs to be completed before 12PM on the requested day. Ideally, please give us at least 1-2 business day notice.

If you need to cancel your registration for Choice Time Drop-In Care, you must let us know by 12pm on the day your child is scheduled to participate in the class. If you already paid for the drop-in class at the time of the cancellation, we can issue you family credit but not a refund.

Enrollment

After School Program Enrollment is by term.

  • Fall Term: (September - December 2025)

  • Winter Term: (January - March 2026)

  • Spring Term: (April - June 2026

Students will be enrolled on a first-come first-served basis. We accept applications until all of the seats are filled. 10-12 children per class.

LOCATION

Classes for the students in Pre-K and Kindergarten in the 2025-2026 will be held in the Clinton location (535 Clinton Ave)

Classes for the student born in 2022-2023, will be held in the St Marks location (238 St Marks Ave)

ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

All of our After School classes are held in Japanese and are open to all children born in 2020 to 2023 who are able to understand the classroom instruction in Japanese.

アフタースクールは、学期毎のご登録になります。

  • 秋学期（2025年9月から12月）

  • 冬学期（2026年1月から3月）

  • 春学期（2026年4月から6月）

お申し込みをいただいた順番に登録手続きを進めます。定員に達した時点で、申込み受付を終了とさせていただきます。1クラス10-12名程度を目安にしています。

場所

2025-2026年度、プリKからキンダーまでに属しているお子様はクリントン校舎(535 Clinton Ave)のクラス、2022-2023年生まれのお子さんは、St Marks校舎（238 St Marks Ave) のクラスになります。

対象

2歳から5歳（2020年生まれから2023年生まれ）の、日本語での授業が理解できるお子様でしたら、どなたでも参加可能です。

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM CANCELLATION AND SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY: In case of a cancellation or schedule change for the after-school program, families will be eligible for a refund or family credit as long as Aozora Community is notified 5 business days or more prior to the first day of the registered class. A service fee will be incurred for ALL cancelation and schedule changes. The service fee is $75 if requesting a family credit, and $100 if requesting a refund. A child’s registration cannot be transferred to another child under any circumstances.

REFUND POLICY: The after-school tuition is not refundable nor transferable towards other Aozora’s programs for any reason from 5 business days prior to the first day of the registered class. Refunds will not be issued in the event that the class is closed due to any unforeseen government health mandate or snow closure. If your child is absent due to sickness, we cannot accept any make-up days or give a tuition refund under any circumstance.

FAMILY CREDIT: Family credit can be shared with siblings or other family members. Family credit needs to be used within 24 months. Family credit cannot be paid out in cash.
